Overview

CME refers to the process of acquiring new clinical knowledge and skills by practising family physicians.  MAINPRO® (Maintenance of Proficiency) is the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) program that governs the CME requirements of its members.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) has announced that satisfactory evidence of participation in continuous profession development (CPD) will be a requirement for licensure in Alberta by December 2009.  This means that all Alberta physicians are required to participate in either the Mainpro program of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or the MOC program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).  ...  MORE
