Who We Are
The Alberta College of Family Physicians (ACFP) is the provincial Chapter for the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and was established over 50 years ago.
The ACFP is a professional voluntary organization, representing more than 3,500 family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students in Alberta. We strive for excellence in family practice through advocacy, continuing medical education and primary care research.

The
CFPC was founded in 1954 and is a national medical association that supports family physicians in providing high quality health care to their patients. The CFPC represents more than 26,000 members across the country and is the professional association responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification and lifelong education of family physicians.
The CFPC offers
MAINPRO® (Maintenance of Proficiency), one of two approved continuing professional development (CPD) programs for physicians to maintain their knowledge and skills throughout their careers.
